All of the books/ videos listed below changed my thought process and lifestyle, WHETHER in a small or large way they were all really helpful in making me more confident and happy. Some are not for everyone but I strongly RECOMMEND trying some out.

  • On Having No face- Douglas Harding

    This is a great book for both meditation and philosophy. There is no fluff or BS, this book is science based and nonfiction, it can give a really good idea of what meditation/ mindfulness is, and it will really blow your mind. My mind literally went through a shift reading this book, my outlook changed, and it was a fun read.

  • Peace is Every Step- Thich Nhat Hanh

    This book has more hippy/ buddhist ideas, the close minded folks won’t like this one as much, but there is no spirituality/ mysticism in this book. It is a straightforward guide to incorporate mindfulness, gratitude, and happiness throughout your day. It might sound lame or boring but it is a really short read and it was a beautiful read as well.

  • Waking up- Sam Harris

    Waking up is the best and most thorough explanation of meditation. It goes over the reasons to meditate, how to meditate, the misconceptions and potential dangers of meditation, and the science behind it all

    This is a great YouTube video from psychologist and professor Jordan Peterson. He highlites the importance of self help, self care, and self responsibility. If you like this video please watch more from Jordan Peterson, he has too many videos to list so this is a good starting point, but he has done wonders to my psychology education and my personal development.
